Had the pleasure of Dan, Lynn and Claire Bruce popping in on their way to Franklin, TN - in which Logan, Roy, Harris, Claire and I made a midnight Bryan's-chili-finding expedition to Kroger and proceeded to make fun with grocery carts, camera, and cakes. 

A beautiful day in the neighborhood in which I did something I almost never do and studied for a test a week in advance and to top it all off I won a contest over at the Beehive, and to top all that off, the Phillies whooped the Pinstripes in Game 1 of the World Series tonight!

This week I got my second wing in school which I badly needed - I am remotivated to secure an A in each of my classes for this, my last semester. 

Over the course of the weekend, my laptop was finally overtaken with a disease that has been relentlessly attacking it and BASICALLY what it did was kill the receiver for the battery cord - which means that replacing the battery won't help and replacing the cord won't help, which means that I might have to buy a new computer, but more distressingly is the fact that there is stuff on my laptop I need access to but it won't even turn on!!!!

I am discovering Antonio Vivaldi and really really like his music. VIVA LA VIVALDI!

Mediocrely performed on a test, Granny celebrated 90 years of life, Brother Guna preached tonight, and Michael Jones presented himself for membership in the church (which we enthusiastically approved), - a very good day.

That being said, something about being a loss-prevention officer who can't pursue loss-inhibitors doesn't quite make sense. I suppose, as the trite saying says, " your presence is present enough."

This might surprise you, but I would side with Walmart on this, inasmuch as I would defend the no-chase policy. The gent said "If he'd pull a knife on two security guards, he'd pull a knife on anyone." Maybe, but it's quite apparent that he pulled the knife only because you chased him. It being a non-rehirable offense might be pretty stiff, but I'm not going to spend any more brain time deciding that point.

Went with Bro Zack to see Sis. Nell, who was doing relatively well, and then went to the Choral Sampler at school, afterwhich many of us watched Wait Until Dark at Joe's.

Led devotion for school lads and lassies in lieu of Bro. Zack who was out of town for the morning; engaged in my first Toastmasters meeting at school, ran 4 miles, Symphony Chorus, stayed up till 12 on the phone when I was planning on going to bed at 10.

Today the carhop at Sonic told me after seeing me several times she finally figured out who I reminded her of, which is odd, because I hadn't been to Sonic in probably a month - I remind her of "the lead guy in Twilight."

I'll say Tim Guess's preaching is getting better and better.

I look forward to meeting William Billings in heaven - how happy must be to no longer be crippled!

Went with Brother Zack to visit Sister Nell who is one of the most amazing people I know - she couldn't stop saying good things about the Lord and while she is staring death in the face, she ain't afraid one iota.

Went to Joes with Dominos and watched the Memphis Redbirds lose an extra-innings heart-breaker in the AAA-Baseball National Championship.

ran 20 minutes - the official beginning of my training for the race in December - and watched monday night football with joe and michael over a lager and steak.

Been studying all day for my first test of the semester - it's in Strategic Management, if you care to know - teach gave us a pool of about 210 mc questions covering three chapters from which 30 or 40 will be selected for the test; if you allow enough time to study them all (which I have accomplished moderately well) it's really a pretty good way to go.

Being at peace with God is an element of sanctification and Isaiah says in chapter 53 that "the chastisement of our peace was upon him" which tells me that Christ's death on the cross affected not only our permanent salvation, but also has far-reaching effects into our daily lives - we may be assured God is interested in the details of our lives.

I very happily announce that my phone decided to commence working yesterday, so we all good - furthermore, we got a ton of rain today, and I am actually going to start doing homework regularly as of tonight.

Went to a Memphis Redbirds game tonight with Daddy, Harris and Joe, and they won, thereby sealing a spot in the PCL Championship Series!

My phone is partially dysfunctional and replacing it would cost $50 because the warranty is expired- I am not very happy about this.

Came home from Arkansas where Sarah Green married Brad Irby, played a whoppin good game of Hearts with Aunt Pam, Rebekah and Logan, and after getting home mowed the yard and played basketball with the guys and watched Fracture with Anthony Hopkins.

I can imagine that Kevin Costner has a really good tenor singing voice.

At our birthday party Ethan and I, along with Dan and Logan sang this.

Since my present and mandatory schedule prohibits me from being in Singers this semester, I opted to join the Memphis Symphony Chorus (meeting only once a week, instead of 3 times for Singers), which will be collaborating with the University Singers on two occasions, so I reckon it's the next best thing.

Bought and wore these today...I think they speak for themselves.

Tomorrow will commence a semester-long fast in which I will not drink a Dr. Pepper until I graduate college on December 19th.

En route to Little Rock airport en route to Dallas I stopped at the Pilot in West Memphis, whereupon I noticed an elderly man a pump down from me whose car's bumper-sticker and whose hat suggested him to be an Iwo Jima veteran of now 60 years and so understanding, was impressed to meet him and so, extending the right hand of fellowship, I put my left hand on his shoulder and first expressed my favorite hobby of reading books on American military history and then more importantly and to the point extended my remarkable and sincerest gratitude for his service for our country, and intentionally avoided saying I appreciated his sacrifice because I knew he would in his mind reply to such a remark "this poor, innocent boy knows not of what he speaks," and then offered my thankfulness that there were still people like him around that we could talk to in person, and he replied, with an almost inaudible chuckle which spoke suppressed sorrow for the loss of his comrades, "well, there's not many of us around anymore" - and as soon as I drove off I hit myself on the head, wishing I had offered to at least buy for him his gas.

Saw Star Trek with Ryan, which was a very entertaining, and then we ate supper at Dixie Cafe and then I went to bed too late.

Dan and Caitlin were in town this weekend and Ethan and I threw a birthday party (well our moms did, really) and we played croquet which was a blast, and we ate ice cream cake and sang barbershop and played the guitar and watched Herbie the Love Bug and drank Dr. Pepper - yes, I did all those things.

The fed doesn't give rights to the states! The states give rights to the fed and assume all the rest! It is inevitable, as the history of man is proving, that the totally depraved man will tend toward the that which promotes and glorifies self - which is, in this case, power, power, power. The totally depraved man will also not think twice about securing his power at the expense of happyness in the human experience - even his own, and especially that of others.

Harris, Dave and I left town an hour after I got off work on Thursday, returning home this morning in time for me to be at work an hour late - during that time we drove across three states (Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia), spent the night with three very dear families (Blevins, Fulmers, Pritchetts) and drove 950 miles - what a weekend.

Other than learning I have to shell out 135 worhless USDs to repair my car, I had a pretty good day - including washing my car, which was filthy from camp!

Played basketball on the slab with the boys for the first time in a couple months - great stuff.

My first 8-hour day at ACH since last summer and my mp3 player had the guts to quit on me - however, it was nothing compared to the wonderful fact that I read 120 pages in John Adams, which puts me at 170/651.

Sometimes God, in His mercy, extends an expression of his everlasting love and grants his children the refreshing experience of living a Very Happy Day and today He granted such to moi for which I am ever so grateful.

Bro. Zack's sermon on the Word of God enthused me, and Bro. Tony Martin's ordination to the office of deacon was super.

WOW - this morning I completed a half-marathon in Jackson, TN and had a blast doing it - read more about it on my running blog; we also performed the wonderful work of Joseph Haydn - my last Singers concert - and it was a smashing success!

This has been a day of resting my legs for the race in the morning, and rehearsing Haydn's Creation tonight in prep for the concert tomorrow night.

I can really see the light at the end of the semester tunnel now that tonight's presentation is over.

ho hum and a bottle of rum.

I am finally feeling the academic pressure of the next two days and I just need to take a few deep breaths.

I did very little today - hopefully tomorrow I will be 100%.

The sickies caught up with me today about lunch time so I have been sitting around watching the Masters, listening to music, thinking about doing some homework but being pretty sure I am not up to the job, and generally not feeling great - so I think I will go to bed early tonight.

Study at school for few hours, play basketball, help Tim with his Toyota's "better than everyone else" oil filter, read Elijah not one but TWO Dr. Seuss books (Green Eggs and Ham, Dr. Seuss's ABCs), eat Taco Bell, study at school for a few hours, look at some sweet pics take by Bro. Jodie Wyle, listen to the future Bluegrass Album of the Year...

Yard work, Choir, basketball, Buffalo Wild Wings, Movie, Sleep, Dream of the congregation singing Sacred Harp at GC - that was an amazing song service.

I got back two scores today - 94 on my persuasive speech; 78 on global logistics test, but it turned into a 90 mysteriously, so I am a very happy camper right now.

Pastor Guess was at church tonight - by far the highlight of the day - and although he looked like he had been awake for 30 hours (which he had), he was in tip top spirits and we were all so very glad to see him home.

Internet at our house has not been for close to a week now and while it is inconvenient on occasion, I fancy it quite well for a moderate duration of time - only because, no doubt, I can go to the church building or the Guesses or school, if I really must access the world wide web.

Many wonderful things happened today including receiving the news that I almost surely can work full-time at ACH Food Companies this summer (huge answer to pray), running 9 miles (and feeling very confident about the half-marathon in two weekends), feeling about 90% good about my bus comm test, and buying Roy's birthday present which I gave to him tonight (a big "architectural wonders of the world"-type book.)

Bro Tim Cannon preached this morning: "Behold the Lamb of God" and it was really really excellent; then Bro Tim Guess rounded out the day tonight with a sermon on infant/believers baptism.

Michael had the guys over to watch the Final Four and grilled a whoppin good dinner including chicken, potatoes, supported with fruit, fried okra, and ice cream!

I took the day off from school and did other things. Starting Saturday, hopefully, I will begin preparations for the coming happenings in the next week and especially the next.

We enjoyed a terrific rain storm today, and I was outside when the sun broke through, and boy, it was like an out-of-focus picture becoming pristinely in-focus, with rich colours galore - I am inclined to believe its presence was glorifying to God.

Today has felt busy, because, while I have actually contributed very little to the progress of any assignments, I have done the important thing of getting my schedule of deadlines, due dates, and all those type things worked out in my mind as far as when I need to work on what - and that is extremely important for me to have cleared up in my mind.

Having been questioned on two separate occasions today each by a Fulmer girl as to the howity of my day, I am very rehearsed in the contemplation thereof, so can with ease inform you, dear reader, that I, while enduring some affecting trials of my closest friends, have completed a useful day in that I finished Mansfield Park, mowed the church yard, ripped through yet another amazing speech in oral comm, spent more money since sunrise than I did all last week, updated the bracket challenge, and synced my calendars (which you no doubt know is extremely relieving).

My last game with the Brethren played out tonight in a 9-point loss, though we played very well, and with the support of my team mates I scored 30 of the team's 50 points, knocking down 6 threes and shooting 2-2 from the charity stripe - a good way to go out.

The Lord richly blessed this day in which Grace Chapel received a powerful message about the Holy Spirit from Elder Isaac Guess, and God blessed me in some prayer time.

Some great games of basketball accompanied by the now rare appearance of Isaac Guess, a muy bien choir concert tonight at which both my grandparents were present, which, being a very rare occasion, was especially treatfull, and afterwards enjoying some grilled foods at Joes and watching The Fugitive, made for a very pleasant day.

Dan came yesterday to enjoy some March Madness with us, we have played some great basketball games today and Seth, Dan and I went to the Sweet 16 games here in Memphis tonight - A very good day!

I have nothing to say tonight.

I took a very deep 30 minute nap today and I don't think I moved an inch - I haven't done that in a looong time.

Today has been a day of getting significant things done like...running four miles, weed-eating and mowing the yard, reading a good portion in Mansfield Park, purchasing tickets with Seth and Dan for the South Regional games here in Memphis (it will be so much fun!!!), relishing in a tasty Fuzzy Navel/Cherry flavored Jerry's Sno Cone, and reminding myself that I need to complete my taxes.

A good day, except for going 1-500 from the 3-pt line tonight.
