Being at peace with God is an element of sanctification and Isaiah says in chapter 53 that "the chastisement of our peace was upon him" which tells me that Christ's death on the cross affected not only our permanent salvation, but also has far-reaching effects into our daily lives - we may be assured God is interested in the details of our lives.
